The same thing is true to some degree with other titles that have their own independent launchers (ie some MMOs), but to make things more confusing it is not always the case depending on the particular game/publisher etc.įor what its worth, keys for content that activate directly on UPlay are often MUCH cheaper than those that activate through Steam, as well as being more available through 3rd party legit vendors. However, its probably about authorization and whatnot - for the purposes of purchases, Steam copies don't "see" the UPlay authorizations and vice versa. I can understand how UPlay is kind of an outlier here given it is one of those "Steam LAUNCHES UPlay" to play Ubi titles, so it kinda sorta makes sense that you're "using both". Is this normal? This is the first time I ever had this happen and I buy a shit ton of games and DLC across platforms. As in, I asked if I could just get an activation code and they said that was completely out of the question. They refused to give me an activation code for it, which I don't think I have had happen either. Steam game forced me to run uplay to play it anyways, so it's absurd they want me to buy another copy on uplay. If there's anything else I can assist with don't hesitate to contact again! Respectfully" Please note that all future DLC must be purchased from where the base game was purchased from. ![]() "Hello stealth, Just reaching out to let you know that I've issued a refund due to client incompatibility, allow 5-7 business days for the $15.66 refund to process. ![]() ![]() I bought Farcry 5 on a steam sale last year and then went to buy the DLC marked down on UPLAY, but it doesn't and won't work. I don't know if this is how it works for every one of these services, but I didn't know it and it been a pain in my ass.
